Introduction

GLOSSOLALIA has been a sound art project. Now it is also a video project.

BLACK SAIL is an ongoing album of electro-poetics.

Electro-poetics involves combining oral recitation with digitally manipulated instrumentation and appropriated material.

As of right now, GLOSSOLALIA materials are divided into three categories: the "video" section contains videos, and, under the "audio" subhead, the BLACK SAIL section contains electro-poetic compositions, while the BONUS CUTS, INSTRUMENTALS, AND POP section contains bonus cuts, instrumentals, and pop.

GLOSSOLALIA is a companion to the text-based F7 project. Both projects involve the conceptual organization of technologically and procedurally mediated material; both are concerned with moving this material across different media; both exploit the tension between determined and chance operations. Some selections from F7 available online are linked in the right margin of this page.

GLOSSOLALIA materials do not cost anything. The two posts below this introduction will be updated with new mixes, videos, and sundry creations as they become available.

GLOSSOLALIA can be contacted via Myspace.

The creative re-use of GLOSSOLALIA materials is avidly encouraged.

GLOSSOLALIA

BLACK SAIL

The laureled clairvoyants tell our doom in riddles. Sewn in our robes are horrid tales, and the speakers-in-tongues enounce atrocious tidings. The prophet-birds seem to speak sagely, but are shrieking their frustration. The senselessest babble, could we ken it, might disclose a dark message, or prayer.

"Glossolalia" - John Barth
